Changes in the new Royal Mail postage system are intended
to extract more money from the business world. With A4
being the most popular size for brochures, folders and
marketing literature, the majority of business post travels
in C4 envelopes.
The current 1st class price for a C4 envelope
under 60g is 32p, From August 21st that price will raise
to 44p but
you will be able to send up to 100g. This is an increase
of 12p or in real life terms an extra £120 on a
mailing of 1000 addresses.
Royal Mail's current advice
is to 'fold things in half' where ever possible, not
always easy with a brochure
or folder!
